NEW FIND - Twice Clothing Website

A few weeks before St. Pattie's Day I was searching for a green cardigan to go with my St. Pattie's Day outfit.  I Googled "green cardigan" and one on a website called "liketwice.com" popped up with a green Gap cardigan for $16.95.  Turns out, www.liketwice.com is a website that offers the opportunity to buy and sell gently used clothing.

What's nice about the website is all the information about the clothes it gives you, including measurements, material content, and washing instructions.  It also gives you an estimated original price.  For this cardigan, I think they definitely underestimated the original price.  However, I have also seen pieces on their website where they definitely overestimated.  (Not sure where they get their original price figures from).  They also offer a full-refund and free return shipping for returns made within 30 days.

Twice offers first-time users a $10 credit when you sign up and put your e-mail address in, so with the $10 off and the $5 shipping charge, I got this cardigan for $11.95.  Not a bad deal!  I also requested a free, pre-paid shipping bag be sent to me so I could send in a few of my own items I wanted to get rid of.

Twice is pretty specific about the brands they'll accept.  (Click on the "What We Buy" link at the bottom of their web page for specific details).  You can type in the brand and what you're sending (a top, dress, pants, shorts, etc.) and they'll tell you on their website how much they'll give you for the pieces they accept.  It's not a lot to be honest (anywhere from $1 to $6 for most pieces).  However, it is easier than going thru the hastle of listing things on eBay, Listia, or other similar websites.

To try Twice out, I sent in 6 items that I really didn't care too much about or value greatly (just in case this website was a scam or didn't accept what I sent).

All you have to do is place your items in the bag they sent and write your name/e-mail address on a post card of sorts that they give you to put inside the bag with what you send.

About 2 weeks after I sent my clothes in to them, I received an e-mail noting they received my items and what they were offering me for my pieces:

Of the 6 pieces I sent in, 5 of them were accepted.  (I sent in a top from A Byer, which is a brand they don't accept.  Oops!).  For those 5 pieces, they offered me $15.50 if I chose the check or Paypal option (which averages out to $3.10/piece).  However, if you choose to take a store credit, you get 25% more for your pieces.  (In this case, $19.37 or $3.87+/piece).  I checked out their site just to see if there was anything I liked to decide whether to take the Paypal deposit or the store credit.

I ended up finding this really cute top from Banana Republic for $15.95 + $5 shipping.  My total was $20.95 minus the $19.37 store credit.  I got rid of 5 tops I haven't worn in years and got a really great one that fits and that I'll wear that I paid $1.58 out of pocket for.  I'm happy with that!  I'm so happy in fact that I'm preparing my second bag of clothes to send in to them.

FINAL VERDICT:  I like this site!  You can get quality items for a fraction of their regular price.  The measurements are listed, so it's easy to determine if the pieces will fit you or not.  They don't offer a lot of money for what you send in, but nearly $4 per piece is more than what I'd make if I sold those shirts at a garage/yard sale.  I'll continue to send Twice similar pieces, but I'm keeping the more valuable pieces to sell on eBay where I can get more $$ for them.

If you'd like to try "Twice" out for yourself, simply click here.  (I'll receive a small credit for anyone who decides to buy/sell any pieces).

XOXO,

Stephanie
